# How do I apply for an open casting call?

> Follow the instructions in the call. Each open call from CW Casting is published on the open calls page, with who can apply, the closing date and how to take part. You do not need an agent or experience unless the call says so. If you are under 18, please ask permission of a parent or guardian and use their contact details.

## Where are the calls?

On the [open calls page](https://www.cwcasting.co.uk/for-actors/open-calls). Closed calls stay online so you can see what was asked for.

## What does a call tell me?

- Who can apply: age, where you live, and any experience needed.
- The closing date.
- What to send, usually a short self-tape. See [how to make a self-tape](https://www.cwcasting.co.uk/questions/how-do-i-make-a-self-tape).

## What was the last one?

[PUSH](https://www.cwcasting.co.uk/for-actors/open-calls/push), a BBC comedy set in a West Yorkshire maternity unit. It was open to people across West Yorkshire, no experience was required, and it closed on 28 August 2026.

## Is there a fee?

No. Legitimate castings do not charge actors to apply.
