About me

Award-winning Casting Director Catherine Willis’ career started in regional and West End theatre, prior to 6 years in-house at the BBC casting department across multiple series, then establishing Catherine Willis Casting in 2006.  Catherine works with emerging and established directors, specialising in new talent for drama, and an eye for critically acclaimed crossover productions and comedies.

 

Television work includes: Dead Set created by Charlie Brooker and directed by Yann Demange; Flowers for Kudos with Olivia Colman; BAFTA-winning series Detectorists with Toby Jones and Mackenzie Crook; Fresh Meat with Zawe Ashton and Jack Whitehall; Netflix’s Cuckoo; Liam Williams’ Ladhood for BBC Studios; King Gary (BBC); Aisling Bea’s This Way Up for Hulu and Merman, with Sharon Horgan, Tobias Menzies and Indira Varma, Including BAFTA nominated 'Brian and Charles' (dir. Jim Archer), 'And Mrs' with Colin Hanks, Aisling Bea and Harriet Walter, and docu-drama "Under the Wire' (dir. Chris Martin) and The Ballard of Wallace Island

Feature credits include C4’s 'Somewhere Boy' for Clerkenwell Films, for which Catherine won the 2023 Royal Television Casting Award.
