In Catherine's words
How was The Witness cast?
A true story, told with the family
In 1992 Rachel Nickell was murdered on Wimbledon Common in front of her young son, Alex. This three-part drama follows Alex and his father, André Hanscombe, in the years afterwards. Both were consultants on the series.
It is my third project with director Alex Winckler, after This Way Up and Somewhere Boy. The series was made by STV Studios and released on Netflix in June 2026.
