CASTING CALL
Set in a lively NHS maternity unit of a small rural hospital in West Yorkshire, Push, produced by Various Artists Ltd for BBC iPlayer and BBC One, is a workplace ensemble comedy about an eccentric but dedicated team of midwives, desperately trying to keep their act together while things around them are quite literally falling apart.​

We are currently looking for actors for the following roles:

CHARACTER 1 20-25 south Asian. Native Yorkshire
Student midwife she is earnest, eager and heartbreakingly green. She knows the NICE guidelines back to front but is terrified of real bodily fluids. She's organised and clever, but terrified of getting it wrong. Desperate to impress, she says yes to everything and then cries in the sluice. She's a chronic people-pleaser who needs to stop apologising and start coping. That said – she's got heart, brains, and potential. She just needs breaking in.

CHARACTER 2 27-40 Filipina
A ray of sunshine, This character radiates warmth, optimism and chaotic good energy wherever she goes. She’s endlessly enthusiastic, fiercely nurturing, and has a talent for turning even the bleakest shifts into a karaoke-infused morale boost. She believes every problem can be solved with food, prayer, or a strongly worded WhatsApp message to her cousins.
She loves a prank. Nothing dangerous, just the sort of harmless mischief that keeps everyone on their toes: fake spiders in lockers, jump scares in the storeroom, elaborate birthday surprises that go slightly too far.
