Heart stopping journeys past the edge of human endurance. In this spin off series from award winning feature Touching the Void, ordinary people thrown into epic struggles for survival tell their own stories while drama brings these incredible experiences to life. Every film has an extraordinary physical ordeal at its heart, but there’s always an equally powerful emotional journey. What would you do if you suddenly had to accept that you were about to die alone? Would you lose your mind or would you fight to your last breath to defeat unimaginable odds? Moment by moment, survivors relive the moral dilemmas, chance events and desperate decisions that ultimately brought them home.

Informed and shaped by the testimony of a panel of top experts from the military, police and Secret Service and former hostages, this documentary explores what the likely responses would be if such a high profile individual as Prince Harry were to be captured on military duty in Afghanistan.
Lashkar Gah, Afghanistan: an Apache helicopter being flown by Prince Harry has crashed. Prince Harry survives but is quickly captured by locals who are only too aware of the enormous value in a western soldier.
The film examines what would happen in this hypothetical situation both politically and militarily: how it would be managed in Britain, who would be in charge, how negotiations would be carried out and what would be implemented on the ground in Afghanistan.

Alan Turing is the genius British mathematician who was instrumental in breaking the German Naval Enigma Code during World War II, arguably saving millions of lives. He was also the visionary scientist who gave birth to the computer age, pioneered artificial intelligence, and was the first to investigate the mathematical underpinnings of the living world.
In the last 18 months of his short life, Turing visited a psychiatrist, Dr Franz Greenbaum, who tried to help him. This film brings Turing ideas to life by dramatising this relationship and these sessions, based on historical records, Turing writings, and accounts of those who knew him.
