Derby LIVE present: The Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare.  The finale of Derby Live hat trick of Shakespearean productions.
It is 1850, and the young, newly-married Queen Victoria sits on the throne of England. Another spirited young woman, Katherina, remains unmarried. Her wild and wilful ways are far from acceptable in Victorian society.
Enter Petruchio, middle-aged, handsome, but bankrupt. Seeing a way to restore his fortune, he quickly snares Katherina as his wife. But what follows is not wedded bliss, but the systematic and brutal crushing of her spirit.
This controversial comedy plays out tragically in the finale of Derby LIVE’s hat trick of Shakespearean productions, following 2009’s Much Ado About Nothing and 2010’s The Merchant of Venice.

Silent Witness is a complex, compelling crime drama and one of the BBC’s most popular and long-running series. It focuses on a team of forensic pathologists: Dr. Harry Cunningham (Tom Ward), Dr. Nikki Alexander (Emilia Fox) and Professor Leo Dalton (William Gaminara).
Based in ‘The Thomas Lyell Centre’ - a hi-tech scientific laboratory set within the grounds of a university - the pathologists painstakingly examine the bodies of the deceased to search for vital clues that may reveal the cause of death.

This British Rom-Com set off the historians, seen as it considered that the naked horse ride, never actually happened, but the romantic journey and good will of the piece shine through.

As is often the case with twenty-six-year-old man-boys, Donal Durkan (Domhnall Gleeson) is sexually unfulfilled. Living on a desolate farm in Tipperary, Ireland with his invalid father, he’s had little-to-no contact with the outside world, let alone the opposite sex. Donal’s mother passed away when he was only a toddler, and other than his dad he has one friend, Karl (Patrick Ryan), who lives on the farm, sponging off of Donal.
In a country where sexual material was often repressed, Hall uses today’s internet era to make provocative statements about Ireland’s modern-day sex trade industry and, by extension, the shifting balance of power between men and women.

Late one night, Sophie is snatched from her bed in the orphanage by the BFG, who takes her back to his cave in Giant Country. The BFG – Big Friendly Giant – is a dream-blowing giant who blows lovely golden dreams into the bedrooms of sleeping children. The two soon become the best of friends, feasting together on disgusterous stinking snozzcumbers, washed down with frobscottle and making whizzpoppers together.

In the last 18 months of his short life, Turing visited a psychiatrist, Dr Franz Greenbaum, who tried to help him. This film brings Turing ideas to life by dramatising this relationship and these sessions, based on historical records, Turing writings, and accounts of those who knew him.

The well loved family fox returned in 2002 with his brand new modern day kids sit-com.  The programme is a remake of the old series from 1968 and is set in the present.  Stephen, a new comic foil for Basil, played by Christopher Pizzey for four seasons, who is then replaced by Liam, played by Michael Byers.
Basil and Stephen live in an apartment owned by Stephen. Stephen is an unemployed actor, and the cast often make jokes about this. Other characters include Dave, a young entrepreneur, and Anil, who owns a café.
This is Basil Brush at his best and helps to merge generations all with this lovable show.

Surreal sitcom about a struggling actress, continuously left in charge of her annoying younger brother Max, his none-too-bright sidekick Ben and their youngest sibling - the baby from hell.
After Sam performs a science experiment on Dani, both Jack and Sam become convinced that Dani is psychic. Sam gives up her faith in science to become a New Age hippie. But Max and Ben have concocted the entire plot in an effort to liven up things in the house. Dani refuses to fall for it, and sets out to prove that she is not in possession of psychic powers, but she has a hard time convincing Jack and Sam.

Fans of Sorry Ive Got No Head may recognise this brilliant comedy from a sketch in the show. The idea is that were set inside a games console GAME OVER follows the on and off screen lives of a group of computer game characters.
